I build things and then write down how they work. Some of it is software and web platforms, some of it is robotics and embedded systems, some of it is data and the odd bit of visual work — and the thread through all of it is wanting to understand a thing well enough to explain it.

This site is where that lives: the projects, the devlog that tracks them as they go, and field notes on what I keep running into on real business websites.

On the professional side I run Iceni Web, where I design and build production websites for small businesses. If you need a website, that's the place to go. This site is for the building, the experimenting, and the conversations that come out of it.
